Loving This Color Combo!

I spent most of today stamping! I made most of my cards with this color combo: bashful blue, almost amethyst, sage shadow, not quite navy, tempting turq, and elegant eggplant. The colors look so pretty together for winter themes. I made a few wintery thank you cards to send out to some people for Christmas gifts. These are 2 of those. The first card uses Hot Stuff my MTF. The second card uses Baby it's Cold outside by MFT also. This is my kit from Paper Pretties for November, which just came in the mail yesterday. I really love the snowman image! I am not sure if this is the way the card should look from the kit, but I couldn't get the picture of the sample (because I've lost my username and password for the website!), so I improvised. I am pretty happy with it. I really like the Bazzill metallic luster cardstock that the main image is stamped on, the markers look beautiful on it. I may have to search for some more...

But I Need It!

Hi! Merry belated Christmas! Hope you had a wonderful day. It was a lot of fun here, but also a bit weird. It was our first Christmas without my older brother here early in the morning. He moved out last January...it was kinda sad, but then he came over in the afternoon and we all realized why he NEEDED to move out! (If you know Robby, you'll understand!).
Today I was able to spend some time stamping. I broke out one of my new Hanna stamps. Her dress and her shopping bags are all paper pieced with Basic GreyPerhaps. The rest of her was colored with SU! markers.
My second card uses Cruisebella. I haven't used my bellas lately, and decided to pull out my binder to play around. I "followed" the SCS Sketch Challenge 156 for this card. I love the saying on this card...
Our NC family is coming up to stay for awhile tomorrow...we are gearing up for Round 2 of Christmas. Wish me lots of luck!

Out Sick Today

Hi! I was out of work today because of a nasty cold I have again. I thought I'd had my winter cold in November, but it seems like that wasn't the last of it. My kids had their holiday party today, which I feel awful for missing, but I know I wouldn't have been able to make it through another day, since Monday and Tuesday were really tough. Since I was instructed (by my Mom :) ) to take it easy and not move around much, I spent a large part of the afternoon at my desk making some Christmas cards.

I made these 3, plus one more which is very similar to the "Let it Snow" but uses the "Happy Holidays" stamp from the SU! set "Big on Christmas". The Merry Christmas card and Believe in Miracles card are both made with Elzybells stamps. I am going to get these written up and then mailed to some friends for Christmas.

Tomorrow I am heading back to work, because I can't take another day off..one was bad enough, especially with our Winter break coming next week. Plus, I really do miss my kids!

Much love, enjoy Christmas, I probably won't get to post again.

Merry Early Christmas!

Hi all!  Took me awhile to upload this because I am having some difficulty uploading photos to my blog. This past August, my Dell laptop crashed on me, and I decided to buy an Apple laptop, since that is the operating system I use at school. I love it, but I am having trouble with iPhoto (the truth is I need to learn how to actually use it, rather than learning through trial and error), and it wouldn't let me put the photos on the blog.  At last, I figured a way, which was a bit complicated, but worked for today!

This card is the card my Mom and I designed for our annual Christmas card.  My Mom fell in love with this SU! set, and we decided to use it. We had to make a lot of cards, and were running a bit last minute, so we kept it pretty simple.  The main image is colored with an Aquapainter and Watercolor Crayons.
One week of school is left for me before Christmas break! Yay, I can't wait for the time off and the chance to visit friends and family over the holidays!  Enjoy December, it seems like this holiday month flies by! :)

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, one day late! Hope you enjoyed the turkey day, and were able to spend time with those who you are most thankful for. Some of my family is here visiting from NC, so it was a busy day with lots of family. My Grandparents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, and we are having a big party for them tomorrow (hence why some family is here). I just put together this card using Baroque Motifs as an anniversary card, I love it's elegance. I embossed the swirls with a rich chocolate brown EP. I am a bit annoyed that the cherish came out a bit lopsided, but I was not redoing it, so I am living with it!

The second card uses the Perfect Princess set. When SU! first came out with the new catalog, my Mom and I placed a HUGE order of stamps, but I didn't really get around to using many of them. Here is my attempt with this pretty set.

We are getting ready to go to dinner at Famous Daves in a few moments. I am not really looking forward to it because I didn't really like the food last time, but majority rules in this household, and I was out voted! Have a happy weekend, and talk to you soon!

Some New Things...

Hello! I was at the Teacher's Convention in AC Thurs and Fri, just dying to play with some of my new stamps that came in the mail earlier this week, but duty does come first...anyways, it was a great time, with lots of free stuff and awesome workshops! I swear my fingers were itching to stamp, and I finally got to yesterday and this evening for a bit! (Breaking last night to see Bon Jovi at the Rock...ahh the last night of 10 sold out concerts, crazy, but awesome!!!!!!! Who says you can't go home? Jersey is always proud to be the home state of Mr. Bon Jovi!)

It was love at first sight when I saw the Elzybells and I knew that I HAD to have them. I promptly ordered like 10 of them! They are too cute to resist! The stamps out now are for winter and the holidays, but some of them can even be used for baby (second card) or other occasions.

The top card uses the Z-fold technique which Beate spotlighted in her sketch last week, I think it was. When it is closed, the girls sit underneath the flower and you can only see the word "bright".

I have been admiring the Hanna Stamps lately, and caved in one evening when I was exhausted from conferences and report cards and open school day planning and said to myself, you deserve it! Well, the next day I found the Elzybells and thought I deserved that too...I better watch myself before I start getting things I don't deserve! :)
She is just too cute with her little star on top of the tree...
Enjoy and maybe talk to you later this week!

Hey Again!

Here is some stamping stuff (sorry I got a bit sentimental on that earlier post!). I had some time to stamp again this weekend. I spent most of my day planning my week out for my little 2nd graders, but finished around 4:30, so it was off to the stamp room! I used my new My Favorite Things stamp set...which is so adorable. It is just too bad that I don't actually have a sister (hint to my brothers to work on that one, if only to send this card to!) I have never used billybootabella before, but Kim let me borrow hers. She is cute, she may go on my wish list! Lastly, I worked a bit on my coloring technique. I feel like that is something I can use some practice with, but I'm happy how this pumpkin turned out...I tried using a bunch of different shades of yellow and orange (colored pencils). The paper is from Making Memories, and it so pretty! Enjoy your week and your stamping time!

Love You Like A Sister

Hey out there! I just found this old photo of Sara and I while I was waiting for my new card photos to upload and it made me stop in my tracks...I love this picture, our smiles so big and happy, before we knew what the 'real' world was like beyond high school (well, me more than you Sar). Just a quick ode to Sara, to tell you I love you and think you are amazing. Let's take time to remember the innocence of childhood and the more simpler times.

Hello Blog Land!

Hello out there! I've been out of the stamping loop lately, but hopefully I'll be able to get back into it soon. I was able to make some Halloween cards yesterday and today between other weekend plans. Seems like I can't fit stamping in as often as I'd like. I realized how soon Halloween was coming up and that I hadn't used any of my new stamps! Had to fix that problem quickly...

Most stamps used are SU!, otherwise, they are My Favorite Things. Enjoy, hope to talk with you soon!

Hello out there in stamping world!

Hi everyone! Wow, it's been awhile, almost 1 month! I have been super busy with school starting, and have neglected to update my blog! Sadly, I haven't gotten much stamping done either, and I am quickly realizing that time runs out very quickly sometimes! I have both Thursday and Friday off at the end of this week for the Jewish holiday, and I'm hoping to get some time in to create. Just wanted to drop a quick line to let you all know I am still alive out there! Happy stamping!

Priceless...

Hello out there! Well, summer camp is over! It was a bit sad on Friday to say goodbye to some of my favorites, but it was also a happy day because now I can truly focus on getting ready for the new school year. Today, I spent some time at a friend's house, talking shop (school shop that is) and making some things for our classrooms. Tomorrow, I will go visit my classroom and start to get it ready for the kid's arrival in only a few weeks!

This card is using the new SU! set, Priceless, which is just gorgeous and so elegant. The paper is River Rock, as is some of the ink. The patterned paper is Almost Amythest. Butterfly is stamped in Purely Pomegrante. On the piece with the swirls and flowers, 'thank you' is stamped in white ink, but it is difficult to see in the photo.

I've got a lot of projects ahead of me, hope I'll find time for them all!

Monday Blues...

Hello out there! Today marked the last day of summer camp, and what happens to me? I tripped over the sidewalk which is very uneven and has a huge hole and hurt my ankle. I am sitting here icing it right now, but it feels awful, and I can barely walk on it! Ugh...this puts a kink in my plans! I really hope it feels better tomorrow...
Thought I'd share these 2 cards I made this weekend, both with the new Garden Whimsy set and matching wheel from SU! This set is so pretty and can be playful or fun. On the piece stamped with the wheel, I took ink daubers and just daubed a circle of ink to make it a bit more colorful. On the second card, the butterfly was stamped by adding color to the stamp from the sponge daubers and then huffing on the stamp and stamping it. I love this neat effect because it looks marbled...wonder if this a real technique?
Enjoy your evening...my Mom and I are just waiting for Big Love to come on, only a few more minutes...

Happy Sunday!

Wow! Is it August already? In about 1 month I will be teaching in my first classroom, now that is a bit of a scary thought! I had plans to get some things together, like plans for the first few weeks and some long term goals for each subject, but I first set out to clean up a bit and of course it took forever! Now I am finally done. Last night I went out with my friends Katie and Joan for Joan's birthday which was earlier in the week. We went to this really cool place in River Edge, called Archetypus, which was right on the Hudson River, overlooking the city. The place is a little cafe which is really like a cave inside, you sit in small booths which are mini caves, it was awesome! We got a bit lost going there, and I had to get a cop to help us out, and he actually ended up driving us there while we followed him, which was pretty funny. We saw the smallest and windest and narrowest street in the world, where we almost got hit and got honked (or plonked as Katie was calling it) at quite a bit (Joan was driving), but it was an adventure and a blast!

Onto stamping things...here are 2 bella cards I made recently, the daintybella was for a bridal shower I went to yesterday. She is simple, but pretty, the bride loved her! This second one was combined with a few new stamps that I got from SU!. The words strip is actually a new SU! wheel, and the stamp set is a hostess set. It is super cute and I thought the sets went well with shopabellas.
Enjoy and have an awesome week (I know I will because it is our last week of summer camp...yahoo!)

Let's Play!

Good Evening everyone! I got some time tonight to play around a bit with some of my new SU! stamps from the new catalog. My parents went to see Michael Buble tonight at Radio City Music Hall, so the house is a bit quiet. Last night my Mom and I took a ride to Walmart, where you should run, not walk if you have children in school or are a teacher because there are awesome deals right now! They have markers and crayons by Crayola for 20 cents, folders and notebooks for 10 cents and glue sticks for 20 cents. I have to be honest, we went a little bit crazy buying stuff (that includes my Dad too who found the sale this weekend) and have about 200 glue sticks now! We had to buy a container just to store everything! Wow, I am now VERY well stocked up for this school year and many to come!!

Now, on to stamping...these cards all use the new Priceless stamp set. I tried to use all of the stamps in the set between these 3 cards, and actually succeeded! The wish big uses the technique of rockin and rolling around the edges of the main images. The so kind also uses this technique, as well as faux stiching. The last card is my favorite! I love the font on the Priceless word and I love this doodly looking stamp that is on the blue. All paper used is the new In Colors for this year.

Enjoy! Any further explanation needed, let me know!!

Ohh Ahhh...

Hey there! Just got back from CKC Valley Forge today with lots of great new stuff and lots of great memories! I went with my mom and friend Sara, and we stayed from Thursday night through this morning. We took a bunch of classes and shopped, shopped, and shopped! We joked all weekend about how organized we were, planning our meals and taking stuff out to the car early so we wouldn't have to do it all in the end, even finding creative ways to close a bag of chips (a ribbon tied paper clip works great!).
Some of the great boths which were on the floor for shopping included Rusty Pickle, Technique Tuesday, SEI, Scenic Route, and plenty more with a wide range of companies...but my favorite above all was BasicGrey! It is no secret that I love all BasicGrey things, so of course I HAD to have their 4 new paper lines plus matching cardstock and letter punch-outs (what is it without the complete set?!) Here is a picture of my 4 new paper packs. (Oh wait...one line is missing, the new Periphery is missing, Infuse isn't a new one, just new to me! Periphery is in a different bag and I forgot to pull it out)
Last night we went to the King of Prussia mall, which is the largest mall on the East coast to eat dinner. We walked around afterwards and ended up in the Crabtree and Evelyn store which carries Vera Bradley bags. We all walked out with our own new bag, in some of her latest styles for the season...they are sooo pretty! This was the first Vera Bradley bag for each of us!

This morning we went to the QVC Studios to check out their store and studio. We didn't end up taking the tour (my Mom and I had taken it in February when we went for a crop there), but we got to purchase some things without having to pay shipping! Sara and I jumped out of the car for this picture in the rain...

Hello...from one Chick to another!

Hi everyone! It's been awhile, but I finally got some time to stamp and talk! Nothing is really new here, tomorrow I should find out which room will be mine for the school year since my principal is coming back from vacation, then I can get into my room and clean and start to decorate, yay! Yesterday my Mom helped me lay out all of the supplies I've been collecting for my class and I am pretty set in some areas, and still lacking in others. I made a list of all the things I want to order, and now have to go back to copy it onto my purchase req forms. I hope I am able to get the things before the school year starts, but I'm not sure... I'm rooting for my friend, Katie, who just went on an interview for a position this past Friday. She hasn't heard anything yet, but I really hope she does soon!

I made this card above for a bella swap from SCS. The swap is called "12 months of bellas and fellas" and the idea is that everyone does a card for the different months of the year. My month was March, and I thought crusiebella fit since the weather finally starts to get nice and you can put the top down on your convertible!

Supplies: (Hello)
Cardstock:
Green Galore, Lavendar Lace, Only Orange, White
Ink: Green Galore, Lavendar Lace, Only Orange, So Saffron, Sahara Sand
Stamps: Crusiebella, SU! Doodle Alphabet and Polka Dots and Paisleys, A*Muse
Accessories: Apricot Ribbon (SU!), Mega and Giga Oval Scallop punches, Stickles, SU! Markers

Just wanted to share one more that I made today for a Bella swap...first time I used Chefabella.

Supplies:

Paper: White, Real Red, Night of Navy, DP by Dies Cuts with a View

Ink: Real Red, Night of Navy, Archival Black, VersaMagic Cloud White

Stamps: Chefabella, SU! So Very

Accessories: Wrought Iron Corner Punch, Tab Punch, SU! Markers

I also almost forgot to add that I was nominated by 2 people for the Rockin' Girl Blogger (yay! although I'm not really sure what it means...) So in return, I thought I'd spotlight 5 of my favorite blogs...
Check these talented ladies out if you get a chance!

Happy Almost Tuesday!

Hey out there! Yesterday was Sara's bridal shower...which I thought I had done SUCH a GREAT job of keeping a secret from her, but it turns out that she knew about it for 3 weeks! All I can say is that she did not hear it from me, her mother, my mother, or Aunt Dawn because we were extremely sneaky in our planning! She did accidentily see the invitation for her party at a friend's house and then connected the dots! I was a bit disappointed because I thought she was clueless and it is sooo hard to surprise Sara and I thought we had done it! Oh well, it turned out to be a great afternoon. She got some really nice gifts (including the racy one from her mother, which was quite tame if you know her mother!) and it was a nice afternoon. I just have to say that our bridal party rocks!

These are the cards I made for Sara for her shower. The single bride was just from me, and uses Stamping Bella stamps, Basic Grey DP, May Arts ribbon and Cuttlebug Embossing Folders. This was an image I had gotten from an image swap and I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the cardstock with this particular image, but I needed it and didn't have any others! The coloring came out okay.
The second card was made by me from the bridal party. Stamps used are Stamping bella, bridalpartybellas, Close to My Heart, and Technique Tuesday. The image is perfect because there are 5 of us in the bridal party!

Enjoy!!
